ICT facilities are available in secluded villages too: Agriculture Minister

As a result of timely steps taken by the present government, all the facilities of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) are now available in the secluded villages as well, commented the Agriculture Minister Md. Abdur Razzak. The minister made the remarks at the inaugural function of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Skill Development Training at Mushuddi Rezia College in Dhanbari Upazila of Tangail online from the office room of the Secretariat on November 1. Addressing the students as the chief guest, the Agriculture Minister further said that the use of artificial intelligence, state-of-the-art technology including robots is on the rise and if we want to survive as a nation, we should not lag behind in their use. He also said that the government will train 20,000 students as BPO professionals in the next five years. Asab Ullah Khan Jewel, chief executive of a2i Arena, Sami Ahmed, director of LICT project, Ahmed Rajib Samdani, chairman of Golden Harvest Infotech Limited and Tangail Deputy Commissioner Md. Ataul Gani was connected online. Chairman of Tangail District Council Fazlur Rahman Khan Faruk and Principal of Mushuddi Rezia College Keshab Chandra Das also spoke from the venue. It was informed at the function that 130 students of Mushuddi College will get 60 hours training on English language and 80 hours training on German language required for BPO work. The training will be conducted by Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) under the Department of Information Technology and Golden Harvest Infotech at various colleges and universities across the country through the We learn platform under BDSkills.gov BD. Golden Harvest Infotech, a training provider, will provide employment to 5,000 trainees.
